When your program is declared a “go,” or no later than 60 days prior to the delegation convene date, you will receive a notice regarding the budgeted amount for your flight arrangements.
The Citizen Ambassador Program will reimburse you for flights according to the following guidelines:
- Flights should be booked no later than 45 days prior to departure, to arrive no later than the first day of the program. If you wish to arrive earlier or stay later than the dates of the core program, the additional hotel and other travel costs will be at your own expense. If you are required to arrive prior to the delegation, your accommodations will be covered.
- We will reimburse the cost of economy fare only, roundtrip to/from the leader’s home airport, up to the amount budgeted per project . If you choose to purchase an upgraded fare, or if you wait to purchase the ticket until the fares have increased beyond the budgeted amount, we will reimburse only up to the budgeted amount.
- You may choose to receive your refund via check or ACH/direct deposit. If you prefer ACH, please let us know and we will send you a secure link to our payment system, so you can securely submit your bank account information.
- Airport transfers in the U.S. (from the leader’s home to the airport, including mileage reimbursement, parking, shared ride transportation, taxis, shuttles, or trains) will not be covered. Airport transfers in the destination country will be arranged by our ground operators and covered as part of the program.
