
Delegation Leaders are selected by the professional association to represent the members and the goals of the association. Delegation leaders provide the initial vision and guidance in the development of the professional program. Delegation Leaders assist in facilitating the professional dialog, greeting hosts and representing the delegation members while in the field.
Seth A. Chase is the government affairs director for the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, where he leads advocacy efforts to advance public policies and government funding that support nurses caring for women and newborns.
Seth brings more than 25 years of experience leading grassroots advocacy, shaping public policy, and executing successful campaigns. His expertise spans campaign strategy, organizing lobby days, advocate recruitment and training, and the design and management of large-scale, nationwide advocacy initiatives. He is accomplished at mobilizing stakeholders, engaging policymakers, and activating volunteer networks to achieve legislative and organizational goals.
His career in Washington, D.C. began with voter education programs at the League of Women Voters. He went on to direct grassroots advocacy for the American Association of University Women, where he built and managed national programs engaging members in public policy action. At The Pew Charitable Trusts, he managed a multi-state campaign to expand government funding and improve the quality of home visiting services for at-risk families with young children. He has also planned and managed projects and client relations at an award-winning boutique public affairs consulting firm.
Seth has a long-standing interest in emerging democracies, which was the focus of his studies in college and graduate school. He travelled in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union during and after the final years of communism in the region, gaining firsthand perspective during the region’s political transitions.
