The professional association selects Delegation Leaders to represent the members and the association’s goals. Delegation leaders provide the initial vision and guidance in the development of the professional program. Delegation Leaders assist in facilitating the professional dialog, greeting hosts, and representing the delegation members while in the field.
Angela E. Maxwell, PhD, CPS
Angela E. Maxwell, PhD, CPS, assumed the role of President at NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, marking a significant milestone as the first Black President and the first to hold the title of Certified Prevention Specialist. With over 25 years of experience in substance use prevention and serving as Prevention Services Director for Alcohol and Drug Services in central North Carolina, Maxwell brings a wealth of expertise to her new position. She is also the co-founder of Aspire Training and Consulting Group, LLC, and serves on various local, statewide, and national boards. Maxwell holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from UNC-Chapel Hill, a Master of Science in Agency Counseling, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership Studies from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University.
